On the afternoon of 15th December, the weather favored us with the warm sun shining. Anqing Foreign Language School welcomed a group of special guests: 100 students in Grade 3 from the Healthy Road Primary School who aimed to implement the integrative practical activities in the quality development base of Anqing Foreign Language School. In spite of the limited time, all children gained a lot.
To begin with, according to the original plan, the first session was the experienced course of indoor production. We divided the students into two groups: boy and girl candidates. They put on the pre-prepared outer wear in different colors.
Afterwards, on the one hand, schoolboys participated in the items such as model assembling and wire craft. On the other hand, schoolgirls competed in the silk flower production and creative weaving experience.
To our great surprise, though the whole process took over an hour, all of the children were absorbed in the teachers’ explanations and completed their art work in accordance with teachers’ request. Students were quiet all the time. Only when they finished their production did they unintentionally show their excitement and contentment. As is known to all, interest is the best teacher. Therefore, students obtained a lot in the peaceful environment.
Furthermore, students took actions in the quality development base. They were all impressed by the experience programs with the total number of more than twenty. Specifically, some of the children were full of laughter while others were screaming. More remarkably, some of the projects tested students’ body balance, some tested their physical coordinate abilities while other items tested their courage and guts.
All in all, the whole procedure took only 45 minutes. Thus, students did not play enough. Considering that it was getting late, they were all reluctant to part from the fun.
